Go Green

Save Money
We love Nantucket’s natural environment and feel good about doing our part to preserve it, but going green does not have to cost more. Our clients want to know that going green is a prudent and valuable exercise that will benefit them, as well as the environment.

The good news is that going green doesn’t require enormous premiums. Many green products are now available at competitive price points. Prudent green practices add value and increase efficiency. Small additional investment in efficient systems and better insulation, results in energy savings, which, even in the short tem, can recoup extra costs and result in substantial savings over the long term.

Including green features in your home entitles you to rebates from local utility companies, as well as state and federal tax credits. Additionally, National Grid Electric customers can secure loans with 0% financing up to $10,000 for home energy upgrades. Loans can be used to improve insulation, and install high efficiency heating systems, tankless water heaters, solar hot water systems, and ENERGY STAR® replacement windows.

“Cottage & Castle secured each job with a comprehensive and aggressive bid proposal… before being awarded the job, C & C volunteered numerous ‘value-engineering’ concepts which ultimately saved us, the owner, very valuable time and money. These efforts did not go unnoticed and did not wane during the job.”
